Corrections
If you notice an error in an article, anyone is welcome to let us know. You don't need to give your company name or position. After we review the report, if we make a correction, we will record what we changed and how in the article.
What to tell us
- The URL of the article in question, or the article’s title
- The part you believe is wrong (it helps if you can quote the relevant text)
- What you believe is correct, and any source that supports it, if available
- Your contact information (if you would like a reply)
What happens after you contact us
- An editor reviews the report.
- If we confirm a factual error, we will, in principle, correct it within one business day, or mark it as “under review.”
- For a corrected article, we record the date of the correction, what was wrong, and how it was fixed.
- For matters involving safety or personal information, we stop displaying the relevant section before completing our review.
If dangerous information was included, we will not repeat that content in the correction notice.
When we do not make a correction
If what you point out is not a factual error but a difference in judgment or interpretation, we will not make a correction. However, we will let you know this is the case, and may add a note to the article if appropriate. We will not ignore your report simply because it reflects a different opinion.
For those who have cooperated with our reporting
If a safety concern arises regarding an article in which you appear, please let us know. If we determine that continuing to publish it would be dangerous, we will stop displaying part or all of the article. This decision is made with your safety as the priority.
